CNN has reported that three days after the attack on our consulate in Libya, CNN found Ambassador Chris Steven’s journal lying on the ground. They returned it to his family. According to the CNN report,
“The journal was found on the floor of the largely unsecured consulate compound where he was fatally wounded.”
Wait – what? Three days after our consulate was ransacked, any Tom, Dick, and Mahmood could wander through it, picking up whatever bits of stuff happened to be lying around? Someone please tell me that at least we had a team go through to retrieve classified data. PLEASE.
Was the Obama administration was so busy telling the public to just move along, nothing to see here, that they didn’t bother to secure the site?
Apparently, Ambassador Stevens had only written seven pages in the journal. But those blank pages, and the finding of the journal, speak volumes.
