New August jobs numbers came out, listing the unemployment rate at 8.1%. But if you include people who have given up looking for work, it’s 14.7%.
It’s interesting, because someone recently accused Republicans of propagating the “big lie,” the idea that a big lie is more effective than a little one. But the real big lie is about unemployment – it’s not 8.1% (which is awful). It’s actually much much higher. I dunno. Will Americans fall for it and vote for Obama, or will they believe their lying eyes, the plight of their friends and neighbors, of themselves?
