Tilting at Straw Men

I know I’m a little behind with my posts (vacation), but what is with those women who dressed as vaginas at the RNC?  What do they expect to happen?  Will repressed Republican males wither and pale at the sight, unable to pass?  Will little old Republican ladies faint dead away?

Actually, I imagine little old Republican ladies scratching their heads and wondering why those girls are dressed like clams.  But I digress…

The really amusing thing is that they think they’re fighting some Republican war on women.  But of course, it doesn’t exist.  So they’re not even really tilting at windmills, because though Don Quixote confused windmills for giants, the windmills were actually there.  It’s more like they’re fighting straw men – things which don’t exist at all.  What a colossal waste of time.  Keep on fighting those imaginary bad guys, ladies!  It gives us more space to do some real work.

About Mystic Cowgirl

I worked overseas in the aid game for longer than I'd like to admit and learned several important things: 1) Third World countries aren't poor because America is rich. They're impoverished due to socialist governments that provide neither rule of law nor basic infrastructures; 2) These socialist governments redistribute wealth from taxpayers to the government workers. There's no benefit to the poor or downtrodden, and certainly not to the general welfare in terms of infrastructure improvements. 3) America is moving toward the Third World model. Rule of law has been subverted because equality under the law is disappearing as special interests carve out exemptions to regulations and special favors under the law. The redistribution of wealth to government began decades ago -- total compensation for government employees now outpaces salaries in the private sector.
