I just finished touring three national parks in three days – Great Basin, Bryce Canyon, and Zion. They were packed to the gills… with Europeans. I’m glad they came for a visit, and maybe America seems boring to Americans. But… wow. Just… wow. When it comes to natural wonders, America’s got them in spades and diamonds and clubs and even hearts.
Lately, it’s been hard to remember how great this country is. I admit it, I’m feeling a little defeated by the regulatory state. But if Americans could carve civilization out of a wilderness, then I think we can take a hatchet to the nanny state.
