Our regulatory state will continue to drive me around the bend, I fear. Why federal agencies like the FDA and and DOJ have Swat teams, I’ll never understand. After Gibson guitar had been raided, twice, by armed swat teams, over a wood purchase (those wood dealers are every bit as dangerous as drug dealers, you know), they have sadly settled their case with the DOJ to the tune of $350,000. In our crappy modern day legal system, it would have cost them far more to fight the good fight than it did to pay the ransom demands (upon paying the fine, the government returned the confiscated wood).
And, there’s no money for cops, firefighters, teachers, or roads I’m told but the DOJ has a swat team to go after illegal wood. America is done for.
