What a nice little election day. I am feeling oddly content the day after, which is a rare feeling living in California. It looks like the officious sin tax on cigs, Prop. 29, will be defeated.
San Diego and San Jose both passed some fiscal sanity, reducing pension benefits of city workers. And in my little neck of the woods, two out of three new tax measures failed.
But the one that makes me happiest, is the victory of Wisconsin’s Scott Walker. And maybe I am an evil conservative, because this fellow’s misery had me giggling like a school girl.
Yes, a successful stand against the idiocy of a recall election is surely the end of democracy.
