One giant leap forward?

Although it greatly saddens me that NASA has become a pathetic political tool, focusing more on global warming and Muslim outreach than space flight, I can’t help but be excited that the private sector is taking over the space industry.

Since man first landed on the moon, we haven’t progressed much in manned space flight in fifty years.  I predict that with capitalists breaking into the field, we are in for some huge advancements in the next twenty years.  Unless I die young, I think my dream of going into space (and not having to spend millions to do so) will be realized.

Wait.  I was filled with hope for a moment.  But then I remembered that our monolithic government will just regulate and tax the hell out of the industry.  Maybe it will be forty years before I get my dream.
