More vacation!

A lot of people are complaining about Obama’s vacation in Martha’s Vineyard.  Donald Trump has said that Obama has taken more vacations than Bush, and his first term isn’t even over yet.  I don’t know if Trump is correct and don’t care enough to look it up, but I wish Obama would take more vacations.  In fact, can we get Congress some extended vacations?  Then they’d have less time to spend our money and make rules regulating our behavior.

Maybe we could mandate Congress take extended vacations in third world countries?  You don’t really get the full flavor of a place after a week or two — they should stay a few months.  It might give them some ideas on how not to run a government.  Because I spent many years in various third world countries and it’s pretty clear to me – we’re making the same choices their socialist governments do and we’re going to get the same results.

About Mystic Cowgirl

I worked overseas in the aid game for longer than I'd like to admit and learned several important things: 1) Third World countries aren't poor because America is rich. They're impoverished due to socialist governments that provide neither rule of law nor basic infrastructures; 2) These socialist governments redistribute wealth from taxpayers to the government workers. There's no benefit to the poor or downtrodden, and certainly not to the general welfare in terms of infrastructure improvements. 3) America is moving toward the Third World model. Rule of law has been subverted because equality under the law is disappearing as special interests carve out exemptions to regulations and special favors under the law. The redistribution of wealth to government began decades ago -- total compensation for government employees now outpaces salaries in the private sector.
